Gadjah Mada University collaborated with the Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC), Sookmyung Women’s University, and UNESCO to organize a training with the theme “ICT & Leadership Education.” This training was held online for 5 days, starting from July 4 to 8, 2022 and was attended by 75 participants, all of whom were students from various study programs at UGM.
The training activities on the first day began with remarks delivered by Dr. Suning Kusumawardani, S.T., M.T. as Secretary of the Center for Innovation and Academic Studies, UGM and opened by Ms. Daeun Yeo, Executive Director of APWINC. Then continued with the presentation of material from APWINC, Sookmyung Women’s University. The material presented on the first day was “Introduction to Python” and “Data Preprocessing”.
On the second day, the material “Entrepreneurship in the Era of Digital Transformation” was presented interestingly by the speakers in the first session, and in the second session, the participants received leadership material with the theme “Female Leadership”. Participants are also invited to practice through sessions on the best practices. In the third session, participants were divided into 18 groups to work on the tasks given by the resource persons.
Continuing the previous meeting, on the third day there was a presentation of the material “Word Cloud for Python,” then continued with the presentation of the material for the second session, namely “Whither Should Gender for Development Go in ASIAN” and the last session was filled with presentations for each group.
At the end of the event, on the fourth day, there were 2 materials presented: “Gender and Environment in Global Citizenship” and “Data Visualization.” The final session on the fourth day was closed with the presentations of participants who had been previously grouped.
The training agenda on the last day was the final presentation of each group and the closing ceremony. All participants presented their learning results for 5 days in a very interesting and creative way, then continued with a discussion session to provide comments and input to each group by the Assessment Team from APWINC and UGM. The series of activities were closed by Dr. Ngadisih, STP., M.Sc as Head of Academic Innovation at PIKA UGM and Daeun Yeo as Executive Director of APWINC.
